Abstract

This study explores how nature-based leisure activities can achieve sustainable growth through ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) principles. It emphasizes the importance of harmonizing with natural ecosystems, engaging local communities, and establishing responsible governance. Specifically, adopting eco-friendly equipment, using capacity-based visitor management, and providing LNT (Leave No Trace) education can reduce environmental impacts while enhancing participants’ awareness. At the same time, shared-economy models, local instructor training, and regional collaborations stimulate both the local economy and eco-friendly practices. Furthermore, transparent governance, ESG disclosure, and ethical management help balance economic benefits, community welfare, and environmental protection. In doing so, nature-based leisure activities can evolve into forward-looking models that integrate economic viability, social responsibility, and ecological preservation.
