Abstract

The study to reveal the structure of beauty in sports through the experience of sports from the viewpoint of the participant of sports leisure activity is quite insufficient. In this study aims to explore the conceptual structure regarding spectators’ perceptions on beauty in sport events. As such, various open-end questions were provided to 10 practitioners who work in diverse professional sport clubs in Korea. The collected data was analyzed through (a) content analysis and (b) agreement verification. The results show that spectators’ perceived beauty includes the following six factors: players’ passion, identification, respect, harmony, touching story, and united movement. This result implies that amplifying the aforementioned factors in the sport events will help to maximize spectators’ joyness in sport event and their deviation from their everyday life. The result also suggests that professional sports clubs in Korea should deeply and exactly understand spectators’ needs and desires in order to encourage spectators’ participation.
