Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of serious leisure cost on participants' satisfaction by examining the difference in intention of continuous participation among subgroups. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, adults who are seriously participating in leisure sports activities in the metropolitan area were set as the population, and data were collected using the purposive sampling method. Confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, descriptive statistical analysis and correlation analysis were performed using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 26.0 program. As the main analyzing method, latent profile analysis using the Mplus 7.0 program was performed, multinomial logistic regression analysis and One-way ANOVA were performed. As a result of a latent profile analysis with the sub-factor of serious leisure cost as an index, it was most appropriate to classify the latent profiles into three categories. The three classified groups were named as low-cost group, medium-cost group, and high-cost group, respectively. As a result of multinomial logistic regression analysis to predict the characteristics of the three groups classified through the latent profile analysis, the durable benefits and strong identity among serious leisure distinct, and gender were derived as factors affecting. Finally, one-way ANOVA was performed to verify the difference in intention of continuous participation between the three groups classified. Low-cost group showed higher intention to continue than the other groups.
